Case - Argenx

Beyond The Stars | End of The Year event.

At the end of the year, argenx brought 500 employees together at Ghent’s Wintercircus. Under the theme ‘Beyond the Stars’, they were taken on an evening of stars, stories and unexpected performances. A tribute to the people who make argenx shine every day.

The Stars of the Show

After a year of dedication and shared achievements, argenx wanted to give its 500 employees a meaningful thank-you. The brief was to create an end-of-year event where every employee felt seen and appreciated. A warm finale that inspired pride in what the team had achieved together, while strengthening the sense of connection across argenx. From the first welcome to the afterparty, every moment needed to feel part of one cohesive experience.

A story written in the stars

To create a concept that felt truly rooted in argenx, we started with the brand itself. ‘Collaboration’, ‘excellence‘ and ‘innovation’ kept coming up, alongside the ambition to look beyond what seems possible today. The origin of the name provided another important clue. Argenx refers to the myth of the Argonauts, a group of Greek heroes who faced the unknown together, each bringing their own talents to the journey. Afterwards, their stories found a place in the night sky through constellations such as Carina, Vela, Puppis, Gemini and Aries. From that connection, ‘Beyond the Stars’ was born: a tribute to every individual star within argenx, coming together to form one constellation and a larger story. A journey written in the stars.

From concept to constellation

Once the concept was in place, we translated the story into a fully realised experience. The look & feel drew on antique star charts, astrological symbols and classical illustrations. Deep blue brought the mystery of the night sky into the space, while gold accents offered subtle references to starlight. Velvet, satin and brass added warmth and refinement. This vintage aesthetic felt at home in the Wintercircus, where its history and distinctive architecture became an integral part of the setting. ‘Beyond the Stars‘ took shape as a recognisable world with an air of mystery, without slipping into cliché or kitsch.

A walk among the stars

On arrival, guests took a ‘Walk Across the Stars’. Star projections and employees’ names created a personal Walk of Fame leading towards the arena. Celestial characters welcomed them along the way, while harp, handpan and subtle cosmic soundscapes set the tone. In the arena, the CEO opened the evening beneath an illuminated argenx constellation, with a personal speech about the journey they had shared and everything still ahead.

Written in the stars

During the walking dinner, guests were free to move between food stations named after figures from the story of the Argonauts. Anyone curious to find out what else the stars had in store could visit the fortune teller. During the welcome, she mingled with guests and offered short, playful readings. Later, she took her place in an atmospheric booth of her own, where employees could have their fortunes read. Her predictions were always positive and hopeful, with a subtle nod to the mystical character of ‘Beyond the Stars’. Looking ahead, an important part of the argenx story, found its own unexpected place during the evening.

A speech within reach

For the CEO’s speech, we deliberately chose a central stage. The Wintercircus’ circular arena was made for it, placing the speaker quite literally among the employees. It made the moment feel personal and kept the speaker close to the audience. Around the arena, projections of stars and constellations moved across the walls and ceiling. As the CEO looked back on the year and thanked the employees, the essence of Beyond the Stars became visible too: the individual stars that come together to form argenx.

Taking the evening to new heights

Midway through the walking dinner, the lights dimmed and a mysterious voice-over drew guests into the story of the Argonauts. Through projection mapping, stars and constellations moved across the walls and ceiling, while the heroes’ mythical journey was linked to argenx’s values and mission. The first notes of Feeling Good emerged from this audiovisual story. High above the guests, a singer appeared on a ten-metre swing, gently set in motion by two dancers. Live vocals, projections and lighting came together to create one of the evening’s most memorable moments.

Sweet dreams are made of this

After dinner, the mood shifted into party mode. Projections, lighting effects and performers led guests towards the dance floor, where argenx’s own DJ kicked off the afterparty. Those looking for a quieter moment to catch up could retreat to the speakeasy lounge, with velvet seating and warm lighting. For an extra boost of energy, a candy bar offered a selection of sweet treats to fill a bag with. ‘Beyond the Stars’ ended on a celebratory and, above all, memorable note.

Happy people, healthy business

Investing in employees pays off. Research shows that engaged employees are 20 to 25% more productive, while organisations with high employee engagement generate, on average, 21% higher profits. A well-designed employee event strengthens that engagement by making appreciation tangible and reinforcing people’s connection to the organisation.

At Whisk, we start with the people and the identity of the organisation. We translate both into an experience in which employees can recognise themselves and feel genuinely seen. The result lasts beyond the evening itself: stronger engagement, a healthier company culture, a more attractive employer brand and employees who are more likely to stay. Those who help write the story all year round deserve to take centre stage every now and then.
